RICHMOND, Va. — With less than 24 hours left before the voting begins, volunteers for Governor Mike Huckabee have made tens of thousands of calls to GOP voters in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia on behalf of the standard bearer for conservative Republicans.

With every delegate being critical, volunteers worked with more fervor than ever, especially because Virginia is a winner takes-all-state, said David Schmidt, Huck's Army National Grassroots Campaign Manager.

"Huckabee's rising in the national polls, his Saturday victories in Kansas and Louisiana, and the urgency of Huckabee's success for the conservative movement have all electrified the troops to action like never before," said Schmidt. "You can't buy this kind of support, this kind of dedication. This will translate into a lot of votes."

WEYRICH ENDORSES HUCKABEE

HucksArmy.com discussion boards were buzzing today over the announcement that conservative icon Paul Weyrich has endorsed Gov. Mike Huckabee.

"I don’t buy the idea that John McCain is a true conservative," Weyrich said. "Nor do I buy the idea that Mike Huckabee should get out of this contest. The people in the Potomac area—Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia — in addition, we have many important states coming up, including my home state of Wisconsin — folks in all those states deserve a real choice."

" There is no question. Gov. Huckabee is the only conservative running for president still standing," said Roebuck.
